Region: North Holland, South Holland, Zeeland

As a Lead / Senior Process Control Engineer at POWARE, you’ll have the opportunity to lead complex process control projects. You’ll combine deep technical knowledge with an advisory role towards clients, taking responsibility from design through to implementation. POWARE also offers you plenty of room to grow and realise your ambitions. At the same time, you’ll work for leading organisations in (petro)chemicals, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals and energy.

What will you do?

In this role, you’ll design and implement process control solutions that make a real impact. You’ll ensure that industrial processes run safely, reliably and efficiently. Specifically, this means you will:

  • Carry out FEED studies.
  • Draw up requisitions for instrumentation and process control.
  • Define the process control and safeguarding strategy.
  • Develop technical standards.
  • Prepare narratives for process control and safeguarding systems based on P&IDs.
  • Develop Cause & Effect diagrams.
  • Prepare functional and technical specifications.

You’ll work both independently and as part of a team on assignments and projects, maintaining close contact with your (sometimes temporary) colleagues and the client. You’ll lead the entire process: from FEED through to implementation, testing and commissioning. You’ll also provide expert advice and, where needed, training.

What we ask of you

You have a solid foundation and have already gained considerable experience in the process industry. You also bring:

  • A completed higher professional qualification or university degree, for example in chemical process engineering, industrial automation, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • Several years of (international) experience in process control engineering, preferably in (petro)chemicals, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals or energy.
  • Knowledge of SIL and ATEX guidelines.
  • Preferably experience in configuring one or more DCS, PLC and/or SCADA systems.
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
  • A client-oriented, ambitious attitude and a drive for teamwork.
  • A structured working style and discipline in your approach.

What you’ll get from us

To start, we offer you a lot of flexibility in employment terms. You can choose a ‘standard’ employment contract or a bonus contract. In both cases, you’ll earn an above-average salary. You’ll also receive:

  • A permanent employment contract from day one.
  • 30 days of annual leave and a day off every five years on Liberation Day.
  • A solid collective pension scheme.
  • A company car or a generous travel allowance – your choice.
  • Everything you need to do your job well: from a quality office chair to extra monitors and a smartphone.
  • The opportunity to take training or courses whenever you wish.
  • Always a say in your next assignment – something that truly suits you.

At POWARE, applying always starts with a good conversation. We want to know who you are, what you can do and most of all: what you want. To support this, we use our own developed scan to gain insight into your ambitions and motivations. Sometimes a technical analysis follows: an in-depth discussion with a colleague to map your knowledge and experience.

If your profile matches one of our ongoing projects, you’ll be able to get started quickly. Otherwise, we’ll actively look for a suitable assignment – sometimes with existing clients, sometimes with new ones.

About POWARE

At POWARE, we pay attention to your personal ambitions. Do you want to deepen your expertise in a new field? Work for the same client for a longer – or shorter – time? Or try a different type of assignment? From offshore to food, from chemicals to sustainable energy: there is plenty of variety and room to grow.

The H-factor: humanity

Because we are a flat organisation, we act quickly. No endless meetings or slow processes – if something needs to be arranged, we simply do it. We also value connection beyond work. We meet several times a year for knowledge sessions, outings and events. And sometimes it’s the little things: a quick call to see how you’re doing, a birthday card, or a small gift at Easter. In short, at POWARE you work in an environment where humanity and technology reinforce each other.
